Workshop: Between Status and Statues: Women in Critical Times in Ancient Egypt and Beyond

Location: On-site Event; DAAD Regional Office Cairo (11 El-Saleh Ayoub Street, Zamalek, Cairo)
The workshop aims to shed light on the following perspectives
- Discussing intercultural research projects on women in critical times on a wider scale including e.g. gender, religious, philological, iconographical, and classical studies.
- Illustrating the role of women during critical crises and wars
- Exploring the impact of different forms of the crisis on women and how they coped with them and underscore the potential of this research for international and interdisciplinary studies
Target Group
Scholars and students specialized in gender studies, classical studies, and ancient cultures of Egypt, Sudan, and Greece.
