The event started with welcoming words by Fatma Soliman (Deputy Director of the DAAD Regional Office Cairo), highlighting the 65th anniversary of DAAD Egypt, and Lorena Mohr (Head of Science and Protocol at the German Embassy Cairo - السفارة الالمانية بالقاهرة, who emphasized the continuous role of the german government to support academic exchange. Followed by a presentation from Prof. Dr Sebastian Günther (University of Göttingen), emphasising the role of influential scholars such as Ibn al-Muqaffa, Abu Uthman al-Jahiz, The Brenthen of Purity and Ibn al-Sunni.
