The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) is an organisation that promotes the international exchange of students and scientists. It is the world’s largest organisation as concerns financing scientific mobility. As an association of German universities, DAAD represents 242 German higher education institutions, with over 500 representatives in nearly 100 countries.

The DAAD Regional Office Cairo is offering a platform for networking, cooperation and research activities between Egyptian and German universities and research institutes to implement projects which are of mutual interest. With various attractive schemes, the DAAD offers funding opportunities to Egyptian scientists as well as scientists from Germany for research stays and project funding.

COSIMENA (Clusters of Scientific Innovation in the Middle East and North Africa) provides clusters for regional exchange in various fields of science, technology and research, which aim to deepen the cooperation and partnership between Germany and countries of the Middle East and North Africa.
